Pretty Quick Acting Group Change

Aug 1st, 2008 by Alan Yu

You may all remember that not too long ago I met up with a bunch of local Vancouver actors to form a sort of group to help each other out such as practicing various scene acting. It appears that since that first meeting nothing else had happened. I actually went to the place that we designated to meet and no one was there.

I have been keeping in touch with one person though as he had to leave the province for a bit and was inquiring how the group was doing by sending everyone an e-mail. Apparently I was the only one to reply to him too. Him and I talked how we were interested in working on our craft though and at the same time trying to gather people interested in other disciplines as well.

Turns out, he apparently talked to a friend that was into directing and would be happy to join the group. So this could possibly turn out into something good. I just can’t believe how quick the initial group fell apart though. It’s almost like being an actor itself where most people simply just drop out so quickly.
