New Skills For 2009

Jan 2nd, 2009 by Alan Yu

So one thing that I do for the new years is that I usually try to learn/do something new. In general, I enjoy acquiring new skills or knowledge in different things to help me become a more well rounded and experienced person. Indirectly, this can help with acting as well since special skills can often be a good way to differentiate yourself from everyone else. So what should I learn?

As I mentioned before too, I was still interested in looking for a supplemental martial arts place as I believe I can push myself a bit more. Learning a new language is another thing that can be useful for life in general and at the same time is a useful skill set as an actor. My English is actually a lot better than my Chinese ironically, so maybe I’ll improve that.

I guess I will try and do some research or get opinions from people in regards to some good things to possibly learn. Like always though, whatever it is I would prefer not to learn it just for acting specifically. Will probably need to find an activity group of some sort too as it is usually easier to learn that way.
