Making Fun of Yourself

Mar 1st, 2009 by Alan Yu

One actor was telling me recently that one of the ways that he tries to get exposure is to simply make fun of himself. Sounds easy enough huh? Of course, he focuses more on comedy which makes sense as generally people like to laugh at the misfortunes of others right?

I never actually done this to promote myself as oppose to having that notion on how you have to be able to laugh at yourself from time to time. One thing people have always told me is that just like a job landing those roles often come down to whether or not the person thinks that they can work with you. So, it doesn’t hurt to be the person that can laugh at yourself.
