I remember years ago when if you told somebody you were and actor the first thing they would say is, "Oh Really, well what have you been in?" You would then tell them that you were doing a season with the RSC or whatever you were doing and they would tell you that unless you were on TV that you wern't really an actor. Some people have strange conceptions of what it really means to be an actor.

Life as an actor can be very rewarding, particularly if you're doing 3 episodes a week on a major soap opera. That's nice regular large chunks of cash. But when the work dries up you have to get used to making ends meet the best you can!!

Also, it is always best to never be too complaicent with any part or role you get as you never know how long it will last. Here is a tip for any budding young actor who has just landed a role in a new ongoing series or soap opera.

You are only as good as your last episode or performance!

In other words, don't think you have made it big just because you are popular today. Always think what may be around the corner!!
