Okay, things have been busy for me and I guess that is a very good thing. One of my biggest highlight just the other day while working on set is that I met an actor that was also working on the same set I was. He seemed like he was being very nice to me and eventually started asking me about my background which I openly talked about.

He gave me a lot of advice in terms of his experiences in the industry and as well he has done directing before. The interesting thing was I of course asked him what projects he has been in as he definitely sounded like he has been to big places as an actor. Surprisingly he started to tell me he was on shows like 24 with reoccurring roles.

Okay, of course I immediately had a big reaction to that because as you all know I watch that show all the time. He was then telling me that he played a character named Eddie in season 2 of 24. Everything checks out. I was talking to the actor Douglas O’Keefe http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641505/?c=1

I was kind of excited to try and learn as much from him as possible and he was nice enough to share it with me. It gets even more interesting. While talking I learned that he was trying to publish some film online but didn’t really know too much about it. During our conversations I blurted out on how I do things like web publishing to earn an income as obviously I am not at a point where my acting income can sustain my lifestyle lone.

This made him ecstatic as he was looking for a person just like me. After talking about it for a bit he asked for my number and he really wanted to meet up sometime to discuss about potentially creating projects together.

Wow, what a great opportunity I thought. I have no idea where this would lead to, but whatever direction it goes I’m sure it will be a great learning experience for my acting journey.

Was It Slow or Busy

One thing that lingered on my mind before participating in the Olympic events was whether or not dedicating myself to it would have made me missed a lot in the acting field.

So I was just looking at the casting breakdowns and it did indeed looked very slow. Basically, for the most part probably only the more established people got work. So, in that sense I am kind of glad about committing to being a part of the events.

I did seek out and did auditions on my own during the midst of this and so I was definitely still keeping my eyes open for opportunities. I am trying to re-contact the people that were interested in making a web series too as I am still definitely interested in getting something going.

We were all tied up during the Olympics and so hopefully now we can get something going.

For everyone who is wondering where I have been I have just been super busy with all of the Olympic events. Very happy that the Canada hockey team won gold today too.

I will be back in full force with acting relating ambitions soon of course.

Okay, with the Olympics starting tomorrow that ad I was in seems to be all over the newspapers here. As a result, I have been getting a ton more messages and shout outs from people who know me personally. Some making wise cracks such as wondering since when did I become an ice skater.

I was thinking, at this level it is kind of a fun thing to have happen. However, I am also fully aware at how something like this can become uncontrollable if you were in something big such as have a big part in a popular movie. I guess this is something you have to get used to in this field though.

I’m personally using this opportunity to see how I personally handle situations like these and the type of impact they have on me personally and professionally. So far it has been a lot of fun.

So today in Vancouver there was a little news in the newspaper about a tax credit that affects the film industry. You can read the article at http://www.vancouversun.com/travel/increases+film+production+credit/2518958/story.html

Maybe it’s just me, but it seemed like the credit was more around the video game industry with most of the film related comments being doom and gloom still. That was kind of confusing in terms of the big headline boasting a film production tax credit.

Things here are pretty slow during the Olympics it seems. I myself will be involved during the Olympics game and so that is going to tie me up. Guess being in that ad kind of started the train in terms of surrounding my activities around the Olympics here.

Now I just hope people won’t confuse me for a real ice skater if they saw me in the ad and then see me near the events. lol.

Oh, looks like I have been getting messages from people that saw me in the print ad that I did a few weeks back. Kind of funny as I didn’t even get to see it myself yet. Isn’t it usually like that too when it comes to these types of things?

Thanks for the shout outs everyone.
