I got my call time recently and it looks like it is going to be a snoozer as the shooting won’t start until the late evening. This is highly likely going to go into the late early mornings as a result.
One thing that came to mind is how the new agency I am with when it comes to background with is that they neglect to inform me about the type of shoot that the bookings will be. I remembered with my old background agent she always was good in telling me what it was about beforehand for me to decide whether or not I wanted to take it.
On the flipside I do notice that they seem to be more active in getting me out there. I haven’t experienced anything drastic though when it comes to my principal representation with them ever since I switched agencies. I think based on the notice there are supposed to be monsters on the set too. This will be interesting to see as it will either be very cool or extremely corny I’d say.

I received a phone call today in regards to contacting a person who I have spoken to in the past in regards to principal representation. I will be contacting him tomorrow as apparently this should be a serious conversation.
It sure makes my situation kind of confusing too as I thought that I would be settled down by now in terms of going to any agency interviews. Guess I can’t really complain as the more doors that are open the better.
Although, I would rather just focus in going to auditions and acting in various films.

I got an e-mail today and it looks like this will be my final visit with an agency for principal representation where I can then finally decide and go with a new representation. It’s already like mid February too. Where did the time go?
This visit should be a little unique as I actually already have a working relationship with this one as they represent me for my background work. Funny thing is I actually never met the main agent in-person but rather just the person that recruited me initially.
Guess this will be the most fun and relaxed meeting out of all of them thus far.

I was reading recently that there are some agencies that are conducting an open casting where anyone and everyone can just walk in if they are looking for an opportunity to be represented for film and television work. The thing is too some of them are semi reputable firms I suppose.
You are always told too to be weary of agencies that just sign up anyone as in many cases you are just one of hundreds of people on their roster. As a result, you probably won’t get pushed much when it comes to landing audition roles. Some people even say that reputable agencies will never post an ad to try and recruit talent.
I am almost thinking of going to one just to see what it is like when it comes to a principal agency conducting open auditions. I can see for things like background work it is usually entirely based on the look, but for acting I would think you would want to make sure that the person is professional. There is supposed to be one in the next few days, so maybe I’ll try it out.

So I sent off a message to all of the agencies that I am potentially interested in and believe that will be it for my inquiries for me to decide who to go with. Essentially, I got four responses out of five and the responses have been interesting so far.
One agency is ready to take me on and is just letting me decide and another mentioned that I would be too much of a conflict with their existing roster and to try again in 6 months. Another replied to me, was the agent herself, and asked me what my age was and I haven’t heard anything back since. The last one responded to me with a particular agent from the agency saying while she isn’t looking for anyone at the time, she will pass my information around as a different agent who works there may be interested in me.
In general, I only got to actually meet and speak with one out of the five agencies in-person so far. So now the question is, how long do I wait before I say “These guys are off my list” and to finally make a decision to go with someone? Most people say you should wait two to four weeks to get a response as it could be that they haven’t had time to see your package yet. However, in my case thanks to the Internet I know that everyone saw my package and add that to the fact that someone acknowledge that they are evaluating.
I think I will give it two to three weeks still though unless something crazy comes up where I absolutely need new representation now in which case I will sign with the one that offered representation. Of course, the option is there for me to just keep things the way they are but that would be kind of silly as I wouldn’t be looking for a change if it was working out.
I’ll definitely try to keep myself busy too with things like independent films.

In an unexpected turn of events, tomorrow I will be meeting with an agency as upon inquiring about it apparently they are super interested in signing me. This one came from a recommendation as well which I guess is a big reason for that.
The good thing too was that they mentioned they would give me the contract and all to think about which is usually a good sign and they said they would be glad to answer the questions I have about it. As well, I was talking to another agency on the phone and although they represented principle talent as well, it was great that they were very open on how they didn’t focus too much on it and therefore it may not be the best choice for me.
Honestly at this point, I think any agency is better than the one I am currently with for my principal representation. I’ll be sure to ask a lot of questions too as this agency seems like it has been around for awhile too.
