For yesterday’s last minute call it actually lasted till about 3am in the morning. As you may expect, I was tired and slept like a baby. During the day some people asked if the Chinese workers would be needed again and apparently all they needed was the military people. Therefore, that made me believe that my agent wouldn’t call for a booking for sure.
Wouldn’t you know it, when I woke up at around 1:30pm I checked my voicemail and my agent left me a message at about 10:30am asking if I could work on Farewell Atlantis again for another 3pm call time. She even left a comment mentioning how I am probably sleeping still and to phone her back when I woke up. Not too long after I got a text message from a friend asking me if I was going back.
I wasn’t too enthusiastic to go back, but figured it wouldn’t hurt. As expected though, since the call time was 3pm they had already booked enough people. It didn’t bother me too much as I’m generally not too picky about background work as I do it mostly for fun and experience. It just made me think that if this was a regular audition or film part I better have ways to make sure that I wake up for possible important last minute opportunities.

So my visit back to the Farewell Atlantis set was interesting yesterday. There weren’t as many people as I was used to for this movie and I was in with a specific group of people. A situation arose where we were all asked if we knew how to operate this piece of machinery and I mentioned that I was able to.
As a result, for the majority of the day I was carrying this device of some sort, and I had to press it against a object which created a lot of sparks. I had to do this for a lot of takes. I found it fun.
I was then talking to my friend on set. He then implied that combined with the fact that I was operating that equipment and that there were objects flying at me that should have made me a special ability performer which means a slight increase in pay.
I personally don’t care too much, but that made me interested. I did ask my agent this question though and I think she was going to check it out. Thinking about it though, I remember reading how even operating something as simple as a coffee maker could be considered as a special skill.
I would only be extremely picky if it was something such as requiring me to say do flips or some of my more wacky abilities such as being able to wiggle my ears as I’m sure the majority of people definitely can’t do things like that.

Well, this should have been the final day on Farewell Atlantis for me being a Chinese Worker. I am really dead tired as of writing this as it has been a very long few days. I’ll write some more details tomorrow as now all I am thinking about is getting some sleep.
Night all.

Another tiring day this was and the wrap up time for me was almost midnight. Tomorrow should be the last day that I am working on this movie as to my knowledge this should be wrapping up at around December and I haven’t heard anything about bookings for it personally.
Saw a lot of stunt activities today which was fun. I myself was very close to the edge in this scene which was interesting as well. It really makes me wonder how it will turn out as there is probably going to be a lot of CGI in creating things like the background.
Hope the last day will be fun.

Wow this was a long day. From 7am to about 10:48pm. Not only that, but I am back on set at 9am tomorrow. The interesting thing today was that I bumped into so many people who I have done film or acting work with before which just shows you how small this world is.
Other than that, there was a lot of people on set today and everyone definitely got their exercise as there was a lot of running involved. I definitely wasn’t just sitting around today as I was used for most of the day.
Back again tomorrow.

So I am suppose to be back on set for Farewell Atlantis tomorrow and as of now I am still waiting for the official call time. That’s one thing that can get annoying with background work is that sometimes you won’t know your call time until the way late evenings.
By the looks of it too, it could possibly start as early as 7:30am tomorrow. At this point, I’m almost thinking of just heading to bed and waking up at say 5:30am to check if my agent has sent me the times as I know there is no way it should start before 7:30am.
From the breakdown I read too the location of the shoot will be around the Lion’s Gate studios location in North Vancouver. The only other time I have been there was for the NBC Universal Casting Call. Guess it will be fun to see the type of set they have created there.
