Wow this was a long day. From 7am to about 10:48pm. Not only that, but I am back on set at 9am tomorrow. The interesting thing today was that I bumped into so many people who I have done film or acting work with before which just shows you how small this world is.
Other than that, there was a lot of people on set today and everyone definitely got their exercise as there was a lot of running involved. I definitely wasn’t just sitting around today as I was used for most of the day.
Back again tomorrow.

I didn’t end up going to set today as the movie was apparently pushed back and so it will be a three day shoot up till Friday now instead. The call time is super early too at 7am for tomorrow apparently and the interesting thing is the crew time is not until 8:30am which is a little odd. Basically, it’s like the talent is going to be there before anything is really set up for an hour and a half.
I’ve had this happen once before and I literally just sat in the area for like 4 hours before everyone else was signed in to really start anything. Better get to bed as I will be leaving in the very early morning.

I was back to the Vancouver Film Studios today. The day was a little more interesting as everyone had to pretend the room was shaking without it actually moving of course. I’m not really sure why the assistant dubbed that as a Star Trek shot though solely based on the fact that people have to pretend get pushed over a turbulence of some sort.
I was talking to a fellow today too about a joining the union as a background extra. He was pretty blunt where he expressed that he though that joining the union as a background extra would be shooting yourself in the foot as he felt that you didn’t really get anything out of it while limiting your opportunities.
Looks like at this point I won’t be needed until around the 18th for this particular production. From what I heard this was suppose to wrap up in December too.

What an early call this was today as my call time was 6:30am. The whole day was pretty long as well as it ended at about 8:20pm. Nothing too much was new as it was mostly a pick up from the last day except this time the scenes were shot in different angles.
I sat around most of the day just socializing with people as we weren’t called in until literally like 10 hours later until we were really needed for the scene. Some people see that as a super easy way of making money, but to me I would rather be on set to see all the action since I personally do it more for personal growth and knowledge.
For some reason though it seems like they need an extra day of shooting for tomorrow and myself along with a lot of other people were asked if we were available for tomorrow as well. I did say yes and so tomorrow will be another day.

Today the scene was shot at a completely different location and there definitely wasn’t anything crazy like the other day. What was neat was the custom made set and it looks like there is going to be a lot of environmental CG effects in this movie similar to other films like the Da Vinci code.
Almost the entire set had blue backgrounds and my only assumption is that computer affects would be used to create the background and settings. One interesting thing of the day though was that there were two back performers who got into a verbal scuffle.
Get this, it was over a chair. From the looks of it, this lady took a guy’s chair so that she could put her things on it, or something like that. So, the guy tried to take it back and she freaked out. Then, someone else tried to tell her how he believed she was wrong and it sure got loud. Felt like some high school.
Back on Monday though and then I won’t be back on this particular film for awhile.

What a crazy day this was. Virtually everyone literally got soaked on set as there were things like generated tidal waves and people were in the water for hours. Kind of felt bad for the older people as they seemed to have got hit the worst in terms of being cold.
It was interesting to see the set that was created though. Was the first time I have seen such enormous set creations. Guess they weren’t kidding when they said that this is the highest budget movie to be filmed here in BC. Back again tomorrow.
