Just a short while ago I discovered that some of my friends were going to try and create some mini film projects as they are trying to seriously jump into the world of filmmaking. I guess it should be interesting for me too as I will most likely participate in it as an actor.
One thing that I usually worry about in these situations is the professionalism. Not only are they kind of just starting out which I usually overlook, but sometimes it can turn into a chaos when everyone knows each other and therefore things are taken for granted.
To my knowledge, the intent was to release it using platforms like YouTube as it will be a good way for them to get immediate feedback about the work. I always wondered even from an actor point of view if it was wise to put your work on YouTube as people often associate that with amateurish work. Although they are just working on the script now, so it will probably be awhile.

Recently I read an ad about a person that entered a film contest and was looking for actors to fill in roles that have yet to be determined due to the nature of the competition. I personally jumped at it when I first read the posting.
I usually like to participate in these types of projects as it is great to see the type of things a group of creative people can come up with and at the same type having to work and collaborate with others on such a short notice. Usually that could spell trouble if you are disorganized, but for the most part I have positive experiences and definitely meet great people and contacts along the way.
I have yet to participate in one of those 24 hour film festivals though. Although, technically the last film contest I was in sure seemed like one.

So myself and some other actors are seriously contemplating about creating some kind of simple web series that we would create mostly for fun with the hopes that we can make something great out of it. As mentioned, in the group it seems like there are three of us that are dead serious about making things happen.
This might be interesting too as I am personally very comfortable and knowledgeable about publishing on the Internet which will come in handy. At this point the main idea that was thrown around is similar to a past idea where since we are all actors we would film our journey’s on like a weekly basis and the public can follow us.
Other than that, we were thinking of a semi reality and scripted story of some sort which all revolved around something comedic. Needs more time in the think tank though as we want to do something that is within our capabilities from a production point of view too.

So I was acting in an independent film called “The Seven” today. It was an interesting role to play too as the story was neat I thought. What we shot is intended to be a web series from what I understand and I suppose this can be considered as a “pilot” or sort to see if the producers will want to or can take it further.
There are two episodes that are being filmed which seems like about 9 minutes each. What kind of confused me a bit about this film was what to write this as on my resume when it comes to an acting credit such as a principal or lead. Because with this the story essentially revolves around seven characters and it is kind of weird to have seven leads right?
I wonder how they break it down for old shows like “Friends” where in that one it revolves around five main characters. I was always told that a lead is essentially where you are the main person that the story revolves around whereas some people say a lead means that you have a certain amount of lines. I think for now I will just write it as a “Principal Role”.

Good gosh I’m tired with a 7:30am call time which lasted till about 10pm. Not only that, but I was recently cast for short film that is being shot over the weekend and so it is non stop film work for me.
The story is kind of interesting I must say and it sounds like they are trying to make it into a web series which should be fun if it sees success. The lines aren’t too bad as there is no crazy monologue, but the character is one of the leads so there are a few lines to remember. Okay, I’m tired…so I need to rest.

So I just finished auditioning for the role that required me to do a Japanese accent. Although this is a student film, this was the most I have ever done in terms of having to do different takes. Example, they wanted me to do it normal, scared, shy, etc. That’s usually a good thing though I guess.
After the audition the person told me that he will see me again at the callbacks which is another first as I never actually heard anyone say that right away before. So, I guess it went pretty well. Sounds like a fun film to work on if I get the part.
Just a few hours ago too I got a phone call for an audition in regards to a voiceover for some kind of video game. So, I’ll be attending that tomorrow afternoon.
