Actor Growth

So now that we have the entire film recorded it’s time to piece it all together. There are some interesting obstacles already though. Now since we had an extreme time crunch and I had to act as the director too in many ways, I couldn’t exactly see all the footage since I was in most of the scenes during taping.

Apparently there are some parts for an action scene that wasn’t even recorded. Yup, I guess the person accidentally forgot to hit the record button or something. But it looks like we had enough footage to still make sense of the whole scene. Tomorrow, we are going to spend even more time editing everything.

Not much to say, except I will be busy filming all day. Let’s see how this goes.

Well, I’m pretty tired as I have been planning for the filming tomorrow. Gonna head to sleep as I need to wake up early in the morning.

Okay, after a lot of planning we have decided to shoot the entire movie in one day this Friday. Looking at the type of shots we need and what we have written it seemed like the logical thing to do time wise.

While it is looking to be like a 14 hour day, it looks like there is at least 3 hours worth of break time too as if we finish earlier we have to wait until the evening to do a night scene shot. I still had to audition one more person too, but for the most part everything is coming along.

So today one of the actress phoned me to confirm about our shoot dates. She then threw out a comment on how she really appreciated that I was doing all this and how things are finally being organized.

That was cool to hear as one of the big reasons I was willing to take on more roles to get it done was because it seemed like the remaining people really wanted to do it as well. So at this point it looks like we are looking at a Friday, Saturday and or Sunday shoot.

So the next item on the list is trying to find a decent place to get all of our lighting equipment from. At the same time, we need to decide what we need exactly as at this point we don’t have time to go back and fourth.

The director person that was helping me gave me an interesting to think about where if we are shooting high def then that could increase the editing time as high def camcorders already encode the video into a certain format. Afterwards, when you put it in a video editor it has to re-encode it again and takes twice as long.

So many things to think about.
